<div class="MsoNormal">
Impressões sobre o VFX Solidarity International</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="MsoNormal">
cerca? </div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -18.0pt;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-size: 7pt;">
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -18.0pt;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-size: 7pt;">
defesa do mercado.
A fábrica
incentivos fiscais? A verdade meus caros
ganhando menos. As forças sindicais
Quem aqui encerra o
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -18.0pt;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-size: 7pt;">
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -18.0pt;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.<span style="font-size: 7pt;">
</span><!--[endif]-->Manter os aspirantes motivados e apaixonados
pela arte. Pra mim essa é a pegadinha do milênio. Você incute nos artistas uma
fantasia na qual eles precisam fazer arte acima de tudo, do bem estar social,
acima do dinheiro, acima do bem maior da classe. Porque isso é uma pegadinha?
Porque assim, as grandes empresas conseguem aliciar jovens talentos, oferecendo
Soa
estranho? Incomodo?
especiais.
</div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">
Ok!
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">
Primeira, derrubamos o sistema vigente e
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">
Segundo, paralisação imediata. Simples
assim. Larguem o mouse, larguem a caneta.
envolvidos.</div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">
inviabilizaria a produção no curto prazo.</div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">
a manutenção do Status Quo. </div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
English version below!!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Fala galera!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
e trabalho.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="MsoNormal">
Começamos a prostituir nosso mercado
<div class="MsoNormal">
E fomos aceitando porque o mercado deu a falsa sensação
<div class="MsoNormal">
E assim fomos deteriorando o nosso mercado, deixando irmãos
eu fizer alguma coisa posso perder meu emprego.” Notícia fresquinha, o seu
emprego sumiu!
darmos as mãos.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="MsoNormal">
Artistas, Uni-vos! </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">Hey guys!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">This post
is a serious one, we are living in decisive moments that will mark our
generation and how the next generation of artists will be treated and
respected. The layoffs, unfavorable contracts totally and the loss of rights are
creating a gap and are taking us literally to the slave quarters.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">Today there
are virtually no films that do not use CG to bring up to life some background,
characters, props or even main characters. One would imagine a peaceful world,
with stable and profitable jobs. Good people growing stronger and creating
management structures and work that allows them to have a great life.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">That's the
reality for those who drives company which produces and receives dividends, but
this is only a mirage for the artists, who are behind this wonderful,
profitable and successful business.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">It was
expected that Hollywood would support and fight side by side with the artists
who makes their films happen, but that is not the message that the industry has
on the Oscar’s night. Aggressively silencing VFX winners of the night, the
industry said in so many words, "we do not care."<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">Now, we
need to do a mea culpa and understand that we are also responsible for what is
happening. The artists were giving up their rights slowly, without realizing
it. We were dropping the class of rights in favor of a "dream" of an
accomplishment. We started prostituting our market by working below market
values, working for hours in the early morning and on weekends. Without
receiving, in some cases, what it would
be fair or sometimes not receive a exchanged at all.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">We accept
that position, returning to be subjected to unreasonable conditions on behalf
of a dream that was actually the profit of others, using the idea of the
"artist's dream" to earn more and share less and less. And we accept
as the market gave a false sense of stability, security. We thought we were
protected from the dangers that the companies were protecting us. But the
companies, not all of course, care most for profit at any cost than by
profit-conscious that everyone wins a little, the most famous win win system.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">And so we
witness our deteriorating market, leaving brothers and sisters falling on the
floor and thinking, "oh what a shame, what a sad thing ... but if I do
something I might lose my job. "Fresh News”, your job is gone! The rug was
pulled we're falling one by one and worse, without holding hands.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">This is the
great problem of our generation, we become fearful, thinking that we are the
weak link of the story, when in fact, without us, the artists, 98% of current
Hollywood movies would not be produced. We have the strength, but not alone.
Our strength comes from the union. We need to go out of our shrinking comfort
zone and fight side by side with those who have fallen. It is time to leave the
tables and fight for a strong syndicate, by labor laws that protect artists and bring
back the respect as a fundamental part of business.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">We are not
enemies of the studios, we are partners, we are as symbionts that together
produce something that neither party alone could do. We are the ones who make a
good idea to turn into a great movie, so we demand only what is worthy.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US">Sounds
impossible? Too hard? If we look a little further back, let's see, in 1941, a
large protest at Disney’s gates that prevented the continuation of all
productions, since the artists went on strike. What to do? Putting business
people to animate / render / model / finish? Impossible ... negotiation begins

Hey guys!!<br />
This is such a simple and yet delightful video! I find this very emotional in these days of harsh hearts and cold minds!<br />
Enjoy<br />

<br />
Hey there folks!
I just bumped into this video and I was amazed. It's so wonderful, so full of animation principles that I almost felt it was too good to be true! Notice how important is to keep your extremes in great silhouette, with great body language and great staging! And above all we can see the inbetweens and the breakdowns. Its really amazing when we can actually see, sumuntaniously the principles floating all together in front of us!

<span style="font-size: large;">Hey Guys! English version is right after the portuguese one! All the structure and videos too!! So just scroll down!!</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="375" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52957199" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
Keep it simple Stupid!<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="221" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52957200" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
Deixei o personagem me guiar pela cena.
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="281" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52957197" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
Vejam o resultado final!!<br />
Um grande abraço!<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="281" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/51236324" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
<br />
Hey guys!<br />
I wanted to share with you some of my workflow for the OnFire's premiere shot!<br />
The whole process started with a plan that was not very useful at the end, but there were the seeds of what would become the project. As you can see here, the initial plan was to have the OnFire characters acting out, connecting with one another until we get to Ollie, the character of the body mechanics.<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="375" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52957199" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
Unfortunately or fortunately, the process ended in the first pass of blocking because as I progressed, I realized that I had Ollie, a humanoid character, only through the end of the sequence and I was losing strength in the shot since he could not work with the characters long enough to empathize with the viewer. That is, back to KISS! Keep it simple Stupid!<br />
Here is the version of blocking with the characters:<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="221" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52957200" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
As I got the idea of what I wanted, the feeling of what I thought was the right thing to do with Ollie, I started out the blocking phase of the scene in a totally exploratory way, did not know where he was going or what Ollie was really going do. I let the characters lead me through the scene. (This sort of thing is the most fun to do though, as you can see, the shot gets bigger and bigger since you're so busy having fun in the straight ahead that you lose track of the size of the shot).<br />
And in the end, this was the process to get the final result of character animation!<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="281" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52957197" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
Finally, my good friend and partner Fernando Jorge, was to render the project and, surprisingly, he broke the shot into many shots. To my amazement, it was what made the project look amazing. This addition of pacing and contrast was super important to the sequence.<br />
And at that moment there was a great lesson, which is one of the things I try really hard to convince my students about, animate always in viewport, perspective wise! It is logical that the scene has to work for the camera, but as a human, if the camera rotate around it, the actor will be balanced and structured with the pose correctly in relation to body mechanics. So when Fernando took the stage and made these changes, there was no need to change the animation to make it work for the camera. The correct body mechanics was there! Only the ball that made a wrong arc in the Z axis to be thrown up.<br />
You see the final result!<br />
<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="281" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/51236324" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span lang="EN-US"><span style="color: white;">I really like
acting, I prefer funny scenes. But I get along with scenes of body mechanics that
I also love working on the weight of the characters in the secondary movements,
the small details that make the scene more believable. Also, lately I've liked
enough to animate straight forward, it is as if the character guide me to the
next pose, body mechanics is the kind of scene ideal for this.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="color: white;">No Open Season 2 eu tive que animar

<span lang="EN-US"><span style="color: white;">In Open

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span lang="EN-US"><span style="color: white;">From the
earliest projects we had a mutual interest in hiring, but never with so much
progress. The visa has always been a barrier in this process annoying,
especially after the crisis. The cost for the company is quite high, the
bureaucracy gets in the way as always and here they have a kind of quota visas
to be issued each year, so if you miss the chance this year, only next year.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Sempre fui muito ligado a artes
visuais no geral.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
E fiquei viciado!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Passava noites acordado, modelando personagens, "riggando",
texturizando, criando cenários e me divertindo com aquilo.
informação relacionado ao assunto.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Infelizmente o mercado publicitário

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Fala galera! </span><br />

O time sempre
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
No mercado
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><br />
numa reel? </span></i></b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLxWsKD8xwXCKEZ6yCHGTlfvatK_DjO30U2RliFHoeH5-VopATO8QlYS9DSUE7wLBaERwb2tS0zfTnU5EwMGJXoVym96KrSYS9hrM8J-tVUxu-c1TxtTOdR84aGRkZ42ppe3W64GfiH9k/s1600/mickey01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLxWsKD8xwXCKEZ6yCHGTlfvatK_DjO30U2RliFHoeH5-VopATO8QlYS9DSUE7wLBaERwb2tS0zfTnU5EwMGJXoVym96KrSYS9hrM8J-tVUxu-c1TxtTOdR84aGRkZ42ppe3W64GfiH9k/s320/mickey01.jpg" width="320" /></span></a><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> O mercado de animação está bastante saturado atualmente, e a quantidade
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
trabalho no mercado brasileiro.
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
EUA? As produtoras e estúdios aqui precisam investir mais no lado business? Ter
produtores que realmente entendam do mercado? Pipelines que funcionem sem
gambiarras?
esses dois mundos?</span></i></b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
pessoas dedicadas a R&D.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
voltar a pensar nisso. Cada coisa a seu tempo.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
Você consegue responder a todos?</span></i></b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Infelizmente, eu raramente tenho respondido a emails. Eu costumava

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">One of the best
things from Pixar is the sensation that you are inside a university. There is
so much study material available and hours of movie discussions with team

process is equally helpful because you are always showing your job in front of
the whole crew, which by the way, extremely talented. So in this process we
have such a huge exchange of knowledge and free ideas about how to achieve the

<b><i><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">Here in Brazil there’s only a few
companies that really invest in their employees, not even inside courses or

believe that the best your employee gets better results they will achieve and a
better product will blossom. Maybe this is a line that separates US from
Brazil?</span><o:p></o:p></span></span></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I honestly think it’s
not about comparing face to face Brazil and US. In Brazil you don’t have a single
studio with the size of the big ones here and for that it’s clear that the
investment reaches the artist and research. But in small companies, I can’t
tell much difference from the studios in Brazil and the studios at US. It’s
more of a question of been big enough to have enough money to invest.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

Is it insanely high the amount of Reels that dives into the animators desk

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The animation market
is pretty full right now so the amount of reels is huge. A important tip I
could share with Brazilian animators is to keep focus. The positions at the
studios are pretty specific and they request experts. So it won’t help if you
show your knowledge at rigging, modeling or anything else if you are applying
for animation job. Most of times those extra skills DO help you apllying into
smaller studios but not into the big ones.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<b><i><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">Brazilian artists suffer a lot
with the lack of good production pipelines that are so easy to find over there.
What’s the main difference you see between Brazil and US? The studios here need
to have a better business mind? Do we need producers that really understand the

money is the main issue and that we just don’t have good artists?</span><o:p></o:p></span></span></i></b></div>

<span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Well, I don’t know
how is the day by day in Brazil, but 10 years ago, the main difference was the
absolutely lack of pipeline (a set of standards, procedures and sofwares that
makes the animation process flow with ease from one department to another and
that is reused and enhanced in each project)
and professionals who do more technical work necessary for the pipeline
work. This is a difficult job that requires planning and communication between
artists and programmers, but it is essential, as well as having people

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Como começou a sua paixão por animação? Você se via como um animador 2D?
O que te inspirou a procurar conhecer animação?</span></i></b><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
estação Silicon Graphics.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
do Frejat. Essa exposição te ajudou a ver novos horizontes?</i></b></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
O clipe do
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mesmos prazos? Viradas de
noite ou respeito ao profissional?</span></i></b><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
'Lord of the Rings", mas feito em 2 meses.

<b><i><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Blur, um nome que você ajudou a construir. Como foi os primeiros anos

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
controle do resultado final. É um equilíbrio difícil de se alcançar.</span><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVernv1KkKJWFBayl3m7pHLjBpYuryE5H4GfzBIw6aZ46INkPY2BdArtCFelEDtalFbD2ScTnVM_NnZm4X0Lj2_GRSuJv3HdCuEataVgZDljQBLUCbeK7SW0VDPaB6WCathyko9We4YVk/s1600/Sce295_comp_0524.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVernv1KkKJWFBayl3m7pHLjBpYuryE5H4GfzBIw6aZ46INkPY2BdArtCFelEDtalFbD2ScTnVM_NnZm4X0Lj2_GRSuJv3HdCuEataVgZDljQBLUCbeK7SW0VDPaB6WCathyko9We4YVk/s400/Sce295_comp_0524.jpg" width="400" /></span></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
esportes e recreação, a eventos bizarros e divertidos.

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Since I was at Design school, I was planning a way
into the animation business, so I kept self thought studying any how I could.
In that time it was pretty though to study 3D animation because the available
softwares were pretty limited not to say expensive. You would need to spend US$
50,000 just to by an Alias Power Animator and spend other US$ 50,000 for a
Silicon Graphics.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Before Design School, I did one year of Cinema college at UFF and that’s
where I began to feel a connection with 3D once I noticed that it was a
powerful tool to explore camera movements, cuts, backgrounds and lighting, but
at that time I didn’t know that this area of the business is called “Previs” or
layout. So at that moment, do some still backgrounds and experience some
cameras and edits was pretty possible so that was my way in.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">In the other hand I was studying 2D animation and having a lot of time
spent at sketching, actually it was tons of paper sheets every day! Eventually
the 3D animation showed to be a clearer patch once it was a combination of
multiple tasks that would help me getting a job. Character animation was almost
null at that time at Brazilian industry but the Motion Graphics was much more
accessible. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

business, after some small internships, was with the ancient Multirio animation
and design team. Eu did a bit of everything, design, animation, rigging,
lightning, composition, editing and that was the reality of that moment. There
wasn’t space for specialists. The Frejat’s music clip I did as a freelance at
Consequência Studioand at the same time I was working at Twister Studio. I
remember it was pretty insane working 16 hours a day. I vaguely remember that I
thought I was going to get fired from Twister because I was late every single
day and I was burned out completely! But that was the only way I found to get
to work with character animation instead of motion graphics, which by the way I
always enjoyed to do but It wasn’t my passion. With all this crazy rush, I got
myself a crude demo reel (if you put it in today’s terms) but at that moment, I
got highlighted at may CG sites and with that I got the invitation to work at

did at Blur was publicity. My first job there was layout and animation for
Disney’s Mickey’s Special Christmas DVD, it lasts one year. After that I got
promoted as a animator supervisor and so I started working with many cinematics
for games and that’s what I done for many years, until I got a cookie campaign

business is a bit ungrateful, because almost all the clients wants “Lord of the
Rings” done in a couple of months. We had a lot of night turns indeed but as
the studio continued to grow, things got better and better. At the end, the the
most easy going work I’ve done there was the cookie commercial. (it was 10
commercials per season so we could re use many of our assets).<o:p></o:p></span></div>

running before I got there, but at that time they were quite small and didn’t
have a pipeline completely developed, the job was done basically the same way I
was used to do in Brazil. But as the bar level start to raise, the jobs got
more complex and the necessity to reorganize and develop a better and
structured pipeline was one of the main concerns. Blur was reinventing itself
constantly and that was something good in one hand because we were always
improving but in the other hand at that time we didn’t have consistency between
jobs, which leaded us to inconsistent workflow, but it was a huge learn for me
and for the company.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;">In such a small
studio as Blur was at that time, one man’s job makes a lot of difference and
it’s a great chance to step up and show yourself but the opposite is true, the
pressure was set in everyone’s work. Blur’s focus at the artists allowed them
to keep their pace efficient and swift but the same time demanded a lot of
commitment among the artists, which they (artists) like to do so because they
could control the results better. So it’s a difficult balance to stabilize.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

One of these days, John Goodman was at Pixar recording the voice for Sully, so
he was asked to read a technical production report at a staff meeting. Just

Aproveitem!<br />
